Observations From the Back Row: 4-19-11

"The public has been misled on this issue by an unholy alliance of environmental scaremongers, funds-seeking academics, sensation-seeking media, vote-seeking politicians and profit-seeking vested interests.” …Viv Forbes

Ron Arnold: Suppressed EPA Hushgate climate report returns to snag CO2 regulation…….The NCEE was ready to cement the case for the Environmental Protection Agency’s “endangerment finding,” the official declaration that carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels poses a threat to human health and welfare. Thousands of government careers, academic contracts, and Big Green grants hung in the balance, and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson needed to release it within days. But senior research analyst Alan Carlin, Ph.D., a 38-year EPA veteran never known as an ideologue, submitted his unlikely critique that the agency’s case was full of predetermined, politically mandated, cherry-picked scientific garbage……… As Obama’s much-touted “science-based policy” rotted into “policy-based science,” Big Green sycophants praised the administration in a quarter-page Washington Post ad.

Ceding sovereign power to the UN global government? Whilst everyone has been occupied with EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s defense before Congress of the EPA’s attempts to regulate CO2 emissions, the Administration has continued to move towards International Ocean Governance with the establishment of a Governance Coordinating Committee for the National Ocean Council, (NOC). The NOC has been long in the making and earlier history of Ocean legislation can be found here, going back to the 1969 Stratton Commission and beyond. However the current impetus dates to the Pew Oceans Commission in 2003 and the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy - An Ocean Blueprint for the 21st Century in 2004, mandated by the Oceans Act 2000. (Ed. My Take - I placed these two together in order to give insight as to what all of this global warming and cap and trade horsepuckey is really all about. We must ask ourselves; what could they hope to gain by imposing regulations that would absolutely destroy industry and cause the economy to nosedive....based on lies? Lies they are fully aware of and are fully willing to accept to attain the goal of "what"?

Ultimately the goal for these people is turning power over to the U.N. Sounds crazy doesn't it? It is! It's also true! If it isn't global warming, it will be some other issue. When you are looking for one anyone will do. Does anyone remember the LOST treaty? Look it up!

Australia’s proposed “carbon tax” bringing down a governmentDoes anyone actually believe a bureaucratic nightmare will efficiently encourage greater energy efficiency without costing anyone anything? Really?

Global food crisis "one shock away", says World Bank chief The global economy is “one shock away” from a crisis in food supplies and prices, says World Bank President Robert Zoellick. Zoellick estimated 44 million people have fallen into poverty due to rising food prices in the past year, and a 10 per cent increase in the food price index would send 10 million more people into poverty. The United Nations FAO Food Price index jumped 25 per cent last year, the second-steepest increase since at least 1991, and surged to a record in February.

My Take - Another stupid greenie idea; turning food into gasoline. Why do we listen to these people? Everything they touch turns into dystopia for the poorest people in the world. And apparently that is what they want for the entire world. Once again...these mideast countries aren't rioting because of an overwhelming desire for democracy. It isn't a part of their cultural heritage. this is all being caused by the price of energy and food. And the greenies are responisble for all of this, along with their acolytes in the media and government, who are equally responsible. Period!

As a separate note;
"US farmers should be warned – inflationary pressures will inevitably cause significant interest pain on borrowings while debt, social pressures and an eventual outbreak of common sense will eliminate biofuel/ethanol mandates and subsidies. On top of that Australian soil moisture levels are high, meaning Australia’s winter grain planting and subsequent harvest will be the highest in decades, pouring massive amounts of grain into a market about to be refilled with northern summer crops. Pay down debt, don’t take on more. Remember that the Socialists have already spent all society’s money, there’ll be no rescue of bankrupt farmers when the next commodity crash occurs."

One more passing thought. Here is a quote from Adam Schaeffer who wrote, "They Spend WHAT? The Real Cost of Public Schools".
“If a district is spending $30,000 per child, surely that is enough to ensure a high-quality education. If the school buildings are nonetheless in disrepair and the kids can’t read, then there is good reason to suspect that a massive share of that money is being wasted.”
