Observations From the Back Row

Immigration, It ‘Will Be Challenged’ - Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, that President Barack Obama bypasses Congress and takes unilateral action on immigration “it would be legally…..

My Take If you eliminated all sound when this woman spews out a logical fallacy you would only see her mouth moving with nothing coming out.  She is a master of saying nothing of value, obfuscating the facts and misdirecting the questions. One more thing.  How is it possible that she has “no knowledge of what he can do legally under an executive order”?  She’s been sitting in the Senate since 1992 and still doesn’t know?  She’s either a liar of too stupid to be a Senator.  But…then again…..she’s not alone.  Two the dumbest people to have ever sat in the Senate for decades now hold the office of Vice President and Secretary of State.  It’s hard to know which of these three loons are more dangerous, and where they can do the most damage, because no matter what their job may be – stupid follows them like an infectious disease that can’t be cured.  It’s called “blitheringidiocy”, that’s why you really can’t fix stupid!

Nixon’s Claim “When the President Does It, That Means It Is Not Legal” Finally Vindicated by Current Politicians- Forty years ago, many Americans celebrated the demise of the imperial presidency with the resignation of Richard Nixon. Today it is clear they celebrated too soon. Nixon's view of presidential powers, summed up in his infamous statement that, "when the president does it that means it is not illegal," is embraced by the majority of the political class. In fact, the last two presidents have abused their power in ways that would have made Nixon blush.  For example, Nixon's abuse of the Internal Revenue Service to persecute his political opponents was the subject of one of the articles of impeachment passed by the US House of Representatives. As bad as Nixon's abuse of the IRS was, he was hardly the first president to use the IRS this way, and the present administration seems to be continuing this tradition. The targeting of Tea Party groups has received the most attention, but it is not the only instance of the IRS harassing President Barack Obama's political opponents. For example, the IRS has demanded that one of my organizations, Campaign for Liberty, hand over information regarding its major donors.

Obama Says He Will Unilaterally Legalize Illegal Aliens - President Barack Obama said in a press conference in Wales on Friday afternoon that although his "preference is to see Congress act," he intends to take unilateral action to give illegal aliens “some path” to “be legal” if Congress does not enact the sort immigration legislation he wants. The Associated Press reported on Saturday that unnamed White House officials had told the news organization that Obama would wait until after the midterm elections to make his move on immigration. The Constitution of the United States gives Congress—not the Executive--authority over immigration. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution says: “Congress shall have power…to establish a uniform rule of naturalization.”

Cruz Won’t Say Whether He Will Support McConnell as Majority Leader - Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in an interview with ABC News on Sunday would not say whether he would support Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as majority leader if the Republicans regain control of the Senate.  When ABC’s Jeff Zeleny asked Cruz if McConnell would be the majority leader and whether Cruz would support McConnell as majority leader, at first Cruz said it would be “a decision for the conference to make,” adding that he is “confident we are going to have a new majority leader.”

IG let Veterans Affairs officials alter report to absolve agency in Phoenix deaths - Crucial language that the VA inspector general could not "conclusively" prove that delays in care caused patient deaths at a Phoenix hospital was added to its final report after a draft version was sent to agency administrators for comment.

The Sad State of Britain: Better to Be a Pedophile Enabler than a Bigot - When an anonymous researcher in Rotherham, England submitted a report thirteen years ago concerning a group of Pakistani men who were sexually abusing local girls she didn’t expect to face disciplinary action. Her report was poorly received by the Rotherham Council which proceeded to launch a hasty cover-up. Its members were so fearful that they would be accused of bias against racial and religious minorities that they turned a blind eye to the child-rape bonanza occurring under their noses.  The Rotherham Council even ordered the aforementioned researcher to attend an “ethnicity and diversity course” to better sensitize herself to minority cultures. She was pressured to change the findings of her report and when she wouldn’t budge they attempted to fire her. Her report was unceremoniously dropped down the memory hole, never to be published.  Fortunately, the cover-up appears to be over. Authorities are now admitting that a major sex slavery ring was operating across northern England between 1997 and 2013.

My Take We have lost our minds! When a societies’ leadership suffers from a contagious disease known a “blitheringidiocy” due to abandoning Judaic/Christian principles – the only stable moral foundation the world has ever known – it isn’t their intelligence that must be called into question.  Their sanity must investigated.  In the meanwhile, I want to know who’s going to jail over this.

Illegal Aliens Learn Quickly They Are Above the Law - Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley this week instructed officials at a Baltimore prison not to detain suspected illegal alien prisoners for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) unless they “present an actual threat to public safety.” The laws of the United States apparently no longer apply within the borders of Maryland. Across the country, states and localities are refusing to work with the US government to enforce immigration laws. Some have gone as far as declaring themselves “sanctuary cities,” or places where illegal aliens can live in work (or not work) without fear of the law.

U.S. threatenedmassive fine to force Yahoo to release data - The U.S. government threatened to fine Yahoo $250,000 a day in 2008 if it failed to comply with a broad demand for user data that the company believed was unconstitutional, according to court documents unsealed Thursday. The U.S. government threatened to fine Yahoo $250,000 a day in 2008 if it failed to comply with a broad demand to hand over user communications — a request the company believed was unconstitutional — according to court documents unsealed Thursday that illuminate how federal officials forced American tech companies to participate in the National Security Agency’s controversial PRISM program. The documents, roughly 1,500 pages worth, outline a secret and ultimately unsuccessful legal battle by Yahoo to resist the government’s demands. The company’s loss required Yahoo to become one of the first to begin providing information to PRISM, a program that gave the NSA extensive access to records of online communications by users of Yahoo and other U.S.-based technology firms.

IG let Veterans Affairsofficials alter report to absolve agency in Phoenix deaths - Crucial language that the Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general could not “conclusively” prove that delays in care caused patient deaths at a Phoenix hospital was added to its final report after a draft version was sent to agency administrators for comment, the Washington Examiner has learned. The single most compelling sentence in the inspector general’s 143-page final report on fraudulent scheduling practices at the Phoenix veterans’ hospital did not appear in the draft version, according to a staff analysis by the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. It was inserted into the final version, the only one that was released to the public, after agency officials had a chance to comment and recommend revisions.
