Lovebugs Were Not Created by Scientists and They Don't Eat Mosquitoes!

Now that lovebug season is approaching in Florida, I'm reminded of a blog post I wrote a couple of years ago after a visit to the sunshine state. People had some pretty crazy notions about these insects -- they were created by scientists, they ate mosquitoes, they were acidic and could damage paint jobs, for example.
