"Immigration law is the province of the federal government," Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a gathering of law enforcement officers in Sacramento on Wednesday, as he announced that the Justice Department is suing California over its sanctuary policies. "Stop treating immigration agents differently from everybody else for the purpose of eviscerating border and immigration law and advancing an open-borders philosophy shared by only a few," Sessions said. "Stop protecting lawbreakers and giving all officers more dangerous work to do so that politicians can score political points on the backs of officer safety.
