Palin Was The Only Bright Spot In The 2008 Race

In his new book, The Restless Wave, and in an upcoming HBO documentary, U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) expresses regret about choosing former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate in the 2008 election. According to TheNew York Times, in the documentary, McCain refers to the Palin selection as “another mistake” he made in a long political career.

In his new book, McCain reportedly claims that former Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, a Democrat, would have been a better choice for the ticket. McCain noted that his advisers convinced him not to choose the Democrat, so he picked the relatively unknown Alaska Governor............. Sarah Palin deserved much better treatment. My Take - Apparently "special assistant Kelly Sadler dismissed McCain's opposition to President Trump's CIA nominee saying, "it doesn't matter, he's dying anyway."Joe Biden called him a man of valor asking when "decency would hit rock bottom?"  His daughter, Meghan McCain, doesn't understand how a person like that keeps their job.  Of course that's his daughter and that speaks well of her, but Larry Klayman asks Meghan McCain: Why is your father so vicious and low class?

No one likes to a demean someone who's dying, but what do you do when a man like John McCain, who has been a disgrace so often, at the end of his life he becomes a nasty, vindictive and mean?  A man the left is now trying to lionize, which in itself bodes the question - who was he really?

The other question we should be asking is why McCain can stiff anyone he pleases at the end of his life and no one is allowed to respond, especially since they seem to exclusively be Republicans and conservatives?  When Andrew Brietbart died the left celebrated.  The right may be glad McCain will no longer be the Republican back stabber in the Senate, and the "go to guy" for a quote against his party, the President and conservatives everywhere, but no one on the right was wanting to celebrate his death.  But when a man plays the game McCain is now playing there are consequences. 

One more thing. 

There's been a great deal of talk about whether or not McCain really was a hero when he was a captive of the North Vietnamese, but I find it hard to criticize anyone who has been a POW and tortured.  It's easy to say what someone else should or shouldn't do when they're at home and comfortable and not being tortured.  But a some point everyone can and will be broken.  That's reality.

But even if he was the hero we all think he was - being a hero doesn't give you a pass on the rest of life, and quite frankly, McCain has been dispicable since his hero days.
